Recently, the “Seminar on the Protection and Development of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Arab Countries” sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and undertaken by the Central College of Culture and Tourism Management (hereinafter referred to as the “College”) successfully completed the training task, and 34 government officials, experts and scholars from the intangible cultural heritage fields of Egypt, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan and Palestine participated in the training activities. Responsible comrades of the college attended the opening ceremony and graduation ceremony and delivered speeches.
The purpose of this seminar is to implement the “One Belt, One Road” initiative, the global development initiative and the global civilization initiative, take cultural exchanges as a link, promote mutual learning, jointly tap the value of intangible industries and empower cultural and economic development; We will build a solid foundation for non-governmental friendship with cultural resonance, deepen pragmatic cooperation in many fields, and inject lasting impetus into enriching the cultural diversity of the world and building a community of destiny between China and Arab countries.
The theme of this seminar is “Protection and Development of Intangible Heritage”, and the training activities are carried out by combining classroom lectures, on-site teaching, visits, seminars and cultural experiences. Participants systematically studied the concept and practice of intangible cultural heritage protection in China, the contemporary construction of traditional craft brands, the integration and innovation of intangible cultural heritage and culture, tourism, and the “Belt and Road” and the continuation of Chinese and Arab civilizations. During the training period, the students also went to Guiyang City and Qiandongnan Autonomous Prefecture of Guizhou Province for on-the-spot investigation, learned the core concept of China’s intangible heritage “live transmission”, witnessed China’s rural revitalization model of “intangible heritage+tourism”, and learned the Chinese scheme for intangible heritage protection and inheritance, which achieved good training results.
The intangible cultural heritage, which has been endless for thousands of years, is a deep imprint and solid root vein deeply embedded in one side of the water and soil. How to protect, inherit and develop intangible cultural heritage, so that it can be integrated into people’s daily life in a more sensible, knowable and enjoyable way, is an important topic in the protection of intangible cultural heritage in the new era. The successful holding of this seminar is a practical measure to implement the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage. In the future, the College will continue to adhere to the concept of “teaching people to fish”, share China’s development experience, development wisdom and development plan, and continue to contribute to foreign aid training in Afghanistan.
