Seminar on protection and inheritance of cultural heritage in French-speaking African countries started

A few days ago, the “Seminar on the Protection and Inheritance of Cultural Heritage in French-speaking African Countries” started in the Central College of Culture and Tourism Management, and 19 officials, experts and scholars from Benin, Gabon, Comoros and Mali participated in the seminar. Relevant responsible comrades of the Bureau of International Exchanges and Cooperation of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Central College of Culture and Tourism Management, and relevant responsible persons of the Ministry of Handicraft, Culture, Hotel and Tourism of Mali attended the opening ceremony.
China and Africa are a true and sincere all-weather community of destiny between China and Africa in the new era, and their friendship has lasted for a long time. Cultural heritage is the root of the nation and carries the common memory of mankind. Protecting, inheriting and making good use of cultural heritage is an important link to promote the communication between the people of China and Africa and consolidate the foundation of China-Africa friendship. Holding this seminar is a concrete measure to implement the “Ten Partnership Actions” announced by the Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in 2024, which will help the development of African cultural heritage and push forward the cooperation between the two sides in the field of cultural heritage.
The seminar lasted until July 23, and was carried out through a combination of special lectures, visits, discussions and cultural experiences. Chinese experts and scholars will have in-depth exchanges and discussions with non-party personnel on topics such as “protection and management of world cultural heritage in China”, “new media communication of intangible tourism” and “virtual restoration and activation and utilization of cultural heritage”. Participants in the seminar will also visit Datong, Shanxi Province, visit Yungang Grottoes, a world cultural heritage, and Hangkong Temple, the location of the game “Black Myth: Wukong”, and experience intangible skills such as Chinese medicine processing and aged vinegar brewing.
