Seminar on Sustainable Development of Tourism in Pacific Island Countries Successfully Held

Sponsored by the Bureau of International Exchanges and Cooperation of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and undertaken by the Central College of Culture and Tourism Management, the “Seminar on Sustainable Development of Tourism in Pacific Island Countries” successfully completed its training task and recently graduated in Beijing. Nineteen government officials, experts and scholars from American Samoa, Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tahiti, Tonga and Vanuatu participated in the seminar.

This seminar was held from December 12 to December 17, and was carried out by combining special lectures, visits and cultural tours. Chinese experts and scholars had in-depth exchanges and discussions with the participants on topics such as “the concept and practice of the development of China’s culture and tourism industry”, “the high-quality development path of eco-tourism in China” and “the practice of the integration of intangible cultural heritage and tourism”. This seminar takes the dialogue as a link to deepen the cooperation and docking between China and Pacific island countries in the field of sustainable tourism development, promote the formation of a good pattern of sharing the advantages of tourism resources and interconnecting the tourism market, and help the two sides work together to build a closer community of destiny.
