The National Immigration Bureau announced today that since August 20, 2026, citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam can apply the 240-hour transit visa-free policy and Hainan’s 30-day entry visa-free policy to come to China, and the number of countries applying the 240-hour transit visa-free policy has increased to 57, and the number of countries applying Hainan’s 30-day entry visa-free policy has increased to 61.

Citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Viet Nam who transit from China to third countries or regions with ordinary passports and joint tickets with fixed dates and itineraries can enter the country visa-free from 65 ports open to the outside world, and stay visa-free for no more than 240 hours in the specified areas. Citizens of the two countries with ordinary passports can enter the country from the port open to the outside world in Hainan Province, and stay visa-free for no more than 30 days within the administrative area of Hainan Province. If the above two visa-free policies are applied, you can engage in short-term activities such as traveling, business, visiting and visiting relatives during your stay. For activities that require prior approval such as work, study and news interview, you should still get a visa before coming to China.

According to the relevant person in charge of the National Immigration Bureau, the implementation of two visa-free policies for citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam is a pragmatic measure to steadily promote high-level opening up and build a community of peripheral destiny, which is conducive to further promoting mutual trust and cooperation, and promoting tourism, commerce and investment. It is more convenient and efficient. In the next step, the National Immigration Bureau will make overall plans for development and security, resolutely maintain a standardized and orderly entry-exit management order, better promote personnel exchanges between China and foreign countries and international exchanges and cooperation, and serve the country’s high-level open and high-quality development.
